It has been decided to visit Leh on a leisure trip from the 19th of June 2010 for a week and the route proposed to be followed is as under :

- 21st move on to Leh by road. Stay for 4 days with visits, treks, walks, rides in and around Leh.
- 25th move on back to New Delhi by Air and disperse.
All are invited for the same. Please do update your queries and suggestions in-order to make it a big success. Also, try sendign this blog to as many of your contacts as possible whom you think would fit into the scheme of things - like minded guys please !!!!
It is essential to inform your presence by 15th of March 2010 since June is major tourist season in Leh and our dear Mr.Anil Dhyani's arrangement for Free (or nominal cost) stay would be possible only then!!
Great effort Buddy..

ReplyDeleteI am not going to fly to India to fly again to go to Leh. How about we rent Bullet motorcycles and do it as we used to do it in old days.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHiring bullets is nto a bad idea too....... but on eway i guess. Not both ways. What say you Laddie. I am game for it - ONE WAY :-) That was we not only be with the group but at the same time fulfil what we wish to as well. Lemme know your views !
ReplyDeleteBy the way guys - anybody else to join on bikes with Laddie and Jacob....... Unni might :-)
Remember the scooter accident on the way to Chail ??? Good ole days bro !!
:-( guys if the wife is a child hood friend and promises to behave like a friend and not wife... is she allowed?!!! God and what is this about being like minded! Lets all be different. Variety adds to adventure... Count me in if your gang has no gender bias! Best of luck for any which way you all decide.
ReplyDeleteoops i will be occupied on the dates above! Please resume your stag prog.to Leh. Besties!
ReplyDeleten Cheerio! Do not take Bicardi Breezer with you... its as good as 'real' juice or 'tropicana 100% ... yuk.Take the old tried n tested... whatever your preferences...
Hi Laddie,
ReplyDeleteBike certainly is an exciting idea, but I feel we may run short of time on that owing to tight time schedule for most of the guys.. We just have a week in hand.
Well, to put further progress from my side. I spoke to my friend today and he assured of his complete help in Gulmarg. So I guess, our Gulmarg phase is fixed..
I shall be speaking with my other friend in Leh, once he rejoins back from leave.
So far so good guys!!!!
I will keep U posted with progress on my side..
Hey Mikki!!.. Ur proposition is wonderful..Pl join us....No issues for 'Breezer'..The cool and pleasant weather there wud require us to take recourse with somewhat stronger conconction..LOlzzzzzz
Cheers for 'Khusi' time ahead!!
Well, I am booking the ticket from Delhi to Srinagar for Anil, Vineet and Myself. Anurag will be booking for himself and Hareram.
ReplyDeleteBut there is a little problem : the return ticket from Leh to Mumbai is Rs13500/- and from Leh to Chandigarh is also about the same... :-(
WHat is we travel bakc to Srinagar and then to our respective destinations friends ?? Please advise on this urgently !!!
I second U Jakky.........
ReplyDeletePerfectly fine with me....
Need confirmations from other tooo pleeeeeeeaaassseeeeeeeeeeee
ReplyDeleteAnurag confirmed booking of their flights to Srinagar on 19th June and return booking on 26th. I confirm booking tickets for Vineet, Anil (Ajnabi), Myself, Sanjeev Bhandari and Ashish Sharma.
ReplyDeleteAny special advises guys ?
Well, guys go ahead and enjoy and post lot of pictures.. Only advise I give is that make sure you don't run out of Coke ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnurag's friend MP too joined the trip..... add on more friends guys....
ReplyDeleteMore the guys, better the company - so lets make it LARGE - lol
Tickets have been booked for five of us from Chandigarh Srinagar on 19th June and return from Srinagar on the 27th of June.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else wishes to join in..... ticket prices are increasing by the day and shall boom since June is typical mountain holidays time (crowd escaping from the planes for holidays - you know what i mean !) still available at Rs.7200 to and fro !
Tentative plans :
ReplyDelete1. Reach Srinagar at 2 in the afternoon and assemble together.
2. Proceed to Kargil (skipping) Gulmarg - what say you guys ?
3. There has been an opinion that we hire a vehicle locally than to look forward for Anil to arrange for the vehicle (officially i.e.).
4. Stay overnight at Kargil.
5. Move to Leh in the afternoon next day.
6. Stay in Leh till 26th - Do whatever you want to.
7. Move direct to Srinagar on 26th morning. Stay Overnight and go around Srinagar on 27th and depart for respective destinations.
Any change/rescheduling may kindly be intimated. We, as on today, are 8 guys and Anil is apprehensive of arranging stay for all together; in which case we might have to hire a room or two in case of need. Since we are all going together as a group, I suggest, we shall be going dutch for the entire journey (only as far as the expenses are concerned - nothing else you "naughty guys").
Please update your views on this at the blog. We got a wonderful platform here !
So I understand we R eight now Jakky...Right..???
ReplyDeleteFine I shall do my best for 4 guest rooms ( two in each) both in Kargil and Leh.. Thats a mighty bet especially when Leh is full with tourists during these months.. All the official visits are scheduled during this time which in turn cuts our chances to find these many guest rooms. However, I am on the job....
So we r going straight to Kargil on 19th.. We sud b there by 19th evening.I shall work on this then. The road journey between Srinagar and kargil is something which we all will cherish for all time to come.. Its simply breathtaking ..
We will leave for Leh next day i.e on 20th.. Period between 21st and 25th sud be adequate enough for us to absorb the tranquil and serene beauty in that cold desert..The cool breeze of Pure air kissing ur cheeks, calm flow of Indus river and lovely snow clad heights all around would take U all to a different realm altogether...
Hey Laddi.. we will Miss U Buddy!!!...
Cheers for happy time ahead....
Had a word with one of my old friend in Srinagar.. He has promised to arrange for our stay in a place somewhere very close to dal lake while we r back on 26th at a very reasonable rates......
ReplyDeleteJakky, in case U get stuck with arranging a vehicle from Srinager to kargil and further to Leh, pl let me know.. I may ask him for this favour also and arrange for a taxi for our trip to Kargil/Leh//..
he is leaving for abroad, but I wud still have his brother and wife,s tele with me for any assistance required while we r there in Srinagar...
Spoke with a local friend of mine in Leh.. He shall be arranging for our escapade with rapids on Indus and possibly for a camp night on reasonable rates...
Good Luck to all the "adventurers". Before I could make up my mind I suffered knee injury in recent (computer association) cricket tournament at Panchkula. Anyway, take care of your health, body and cherish and share every moment in pics ...
ReplyDeleteAnil, as discussed in our earlier comments, you are supposed to arrange for the entire trip BUT in case of any problem you need to advise so that alternative arrangements can be made.
ReplyDeleteThere has been a question from Anurag as to why Gulmarg has been eliminated ? Can we assign any reasons thereof ?? In face I also do not know why i excluded - dumb faced jacob ;-)
Also, there has been a request from One Dr.Ashima to join us. Please give your comments on the only female face joining us in the all-male group..... any objections OR any other comments as you all may deem to make may kindly be made in the blog itself.
Gurpreet, get well soonest and let me tell you that the trip is in June and i am sure your knee will be absolutely ok by then.....we will miss you if you cannot make it bro.
I once again urge everyone to share ALL comments on the blog itself.
Agreed all comments shld be on blog itself but maybe after 1-1 communication since it is more convenient and personal? after all tkts need to be booked from "chandigarh to srinagar as per instructions'' etc fast! esp since its now a 'married spinsters' blog too albeit with lots of ''roaring studs'' and who would not mind femme fatales? anyway, as for me ''you are (all) welcome''.
ReplyDeleteWell, let me add my two cents; I don't think anyone will have objections with a female on the group but, to be honest, it is going to limit everything to PG13 and FAMILY channel type activities, which takes away 90% of rated R stuff which everyone is/was looking forward to on this trip.
ReplyDelete(With no disrespect to the Lady, I would tell my own wife that it's men only trip, even though I am not going)
Greetings and warm wishes to all!!
ReplyDeleteGuys few inputs!!
Now the query raised by Anurag is absolutely in order and we need to take a decision on that. My recommendation is that we stay in Srinagar on 19th, see the place and move on to Kargil next day,i.e on 20th.. Further we leave for Leh on 21st. We stay in Leh between 22nd and 26th morning and move back to Srinagar. We wud though need to leave leh on 26th early morning since, it entails a journey of good about 10-11 hrs...Alternatively, we leave Leh on 25th itself and stay in Kargil and move on to Srinagar on 26th. The return move as it is fixed for 27th...
My dear friend Asmita is a lively lady. She has seen more parts of Globe than most of us...I am sure her company would not impede in our 'bachelors' sojourn..may b her appreciable grit may coax others to follow suit... In any case she has confirmed her tickets to me now.. So lets be sport and welcome her in our gang with smile...
Guys pl confirm!!!
Dudes! This is Asmita Would like to tell..I am not at all a typical family types lady.. a PhD and has been in education admin for past 20 yrs..a fun loving person.. u could still enjoy 100% ...stuff with me around...
ReplyDeleteKsauly or was it SIMLA and Backwheel of a truck I remember everything Now it seems to be an adventure
ReplyDeleteGAME for it
Unni
With reference to comments from b (unknown - who he/she is? - I am sure someone's wife from amongst the so called studs!!) I appreciate the comments made on the blog.... though, I must say, a bit sarcastic it smelled - so to speak.
ReplyDeleteLaddie - I agree with you but i still leave the final call on the matter to more of the gang - remember we have always been democratic in our decisions ?
Anil, we wait till the end of first week of April to take a final call on the Gulmarg, return via Kargil thing once more suggestions pour in.
HR Singh, a few days back was talking of hiring a (SELF DRIVE) vehicle for traveling from Srinagar to Leh and Back rather than looking for Army vehicle........ he thinks it (read the army vehicle) might leave marks at wrong places - is that true ?
About Asmita, lets wait for a final consensus..... there has been objections to the fore and support has been rather laid back - I repeat the democratic process shall prevail without prejudice to any. Thanks.
Directly to Dr.Asmita, I frankly appreciate your spirit of adventure, your PhD in addition to administrative capabilities (no pun intended) but then we would be arriving at a decision soonest and I hope it would be in your favour but IF NOT..... it must be well received too. Thanks.
Unni, it was neither Kasauli nor Simla - it was on our way to Chail and I was driving the scooter and you were sitting behind and it was Sarabjit's scooter which broke into two (literally) and it was Laddie's (valuable) Parkah which got torn while we were sitting ducks under the truck.. wow... adventurous we were - ha ha ha.
ReplyDeletejakky does seem to think he knows what 'wives' (read plural as it is) sound like! am sure you as the author of the term 'roaring studs' would know its not 'so-called'. btw its not very good to first personally invite someone on board and then leave it to the eye-wash 'democratic process'. tsk tsk tsk..
ReplyDeleteBy the way, B (who ever it is - at least now I know it is a 'she', can only be a wife and not wives as she pretends to claim) needs to identify herself (as a self-righteous person) to give those comments. If not, then please refrain from making comments which are inappropriate.
ReplyDeleteAs for 'roaring studs' - a group of 40 something males form a group of roaring-studs and certainly it ain't 'SO CALLED' by whatever standards.
As for inviting, I had invited the entire group of friends (and friend's friends too), I am fortunate to be in touch with. Once again I wish to clarify that on a personal level I have all respect for Dr.Asmita (and Ms.B too) and would be most pleased if she joins us for the trip BUT in the same breath I stand by my words that Democracy must prevail come what may.
I urge all to comment and reach a consensus on the route to be followed, Dr.Asmita accompanying us and any other missing link i might be skipping :-)
so typically jakky. you forgot?? the words 'so called' were yours ... "I am sure someone's wife from amongst the so called studs!!" AND when i say it cant be 'so called' as you cleverly tried to disassociate yourself from the term (like you were hearing it for the first time!!) now you say "..certainly it ain't 'SO CALLED' by whatever standards". well that is what happens when people say one thing in private to drs and... and another thing in public blogs....
ReplyDeleteHi again! Well since childhood Himalayas always fascinated me and its my fav vacation destination. I mentioned to my friend Anil that I wish to see LEH once but through Army link which takes me closer to the life of jawans. On his invitation I showed my interest in joining this trip and was welcomed by Jacob; so has taken it as confirmation. I would not like to be a disturbing element whatsoever for you guys. I am sure the invitation was extended to me by Anil knowing the fact that I would be a good company. I would appreciate earliest confirmation either ways since I have booked my all tickets so far and rather was looking forward to this most memorable trip ever to Himalayas and planning for it excitedly.Rest depends how everybody takes it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have a choice here anymore. As far as I know all of you guys, it would be too hard to digest the fact that we all (even though I am not going) have rejected a person to make it more fun for ourselves while the person, with the knowledge, is waiting for our decision. my two cents; well make it four, don't waste time and plan the trip taking her along.
ReplyDeleteYes it was Chail Where it that sarabjit? if you HAVE AN IDEA Call him in if want another Adventure of the same kind. What's all the about Women ( Girls) Distracting the guys, you dont need any girl to distract and go under a truck Sarabjit/Laddie example is a good to explain to Citizen of the Democracy if They are Sport Let them go Other need not be spoilsport
ReplyDeleteSo now, we have four votes for the Lady but lemme point out that the score is still 2 since 2 of them are actually not accompanying the team.
ReplyDeleteUnni - u said you are game for it - meaning you planning to join us ? Please inform.
Anurag, Vineet, H R Singh, Ashish, Sanjeev - You guys need to chip in with your goddamn comments on the same to finalize the issue please !!! QUICK QUICK QUICK please.
All right guys!!!
ReplyDeletehere are further updates...
I guess, it wud b better to stay in Sonamarg on 19th,since it falls en route to Kargil...The place is beautiful. Gulmarg on the other hand is about 2-3 hrs away from Airport on complete opposite direction, which may take away our complete day...So I will vote for Sona Marg on 19th...
Jakky, we have to hire a Veh(civil) from srinagar to Leh in any case and need to hire a veh in Leh too..It is not possible to seek assistance from Army in providing us tpt for 12-13 hrs...A Innova might serve our purpose...
Now couple of words on the HOT topic over here..'Dr Asmita'...
Well, I dont know what exactly transpired between Jakky which led her to make up her mind to join us...Jakky has a valid point in asking for a consensus on the issue. I am sure the majority wud not mind somebody as enthusiastic as HER to join us. I however has following to admit...
(a) .. She is a wonderful person, highly energetic and sure wud be a great company for us all..
(b).. I know her personally and vouch for my belief.
(c).. Now that she has confirmed her tickets based on assurance from me and Jakky( as per her inference on Jakky,s mail to her), I feel duty bound to honor her spirit.
(d).. I have given her personal assurance that I wud look after her administration( to my best capabilities) during her trip, whether she form part of our gp or NOT..
So guys, lets cut the damn issue to its conclusiveness here itself.. If the Gp does,nt approve her joining us, she is visiting LEH in her personal capacity, all by herself. Of course I shall be providing her all possible assistance and guidance..
So I believe the issue is sorted out for GOOD now..
Now back to business!!!
I wish to know following pronto...
(a).. Are we staying in Sonamarg on 19th..??
(b).. Shall we hit Leh directly on 20th moving out from Sonamarg??
(c).. When exactly are we coming back to Srinagar.. is on 25th or 26th.?? In case we come back to Srinagar on 25th, we have a day in our hand which can be utilized to visit Gulmarg or few other places in Srinagar too..
Plsss, Guys I need to know general agreement on that..
And now may I appeal our other worthy friends still sleeping to shake their Lazy Asses and put in their bits here,,naming:-
.. Vineet
.. Anurag
.. Hare
C,mon Guys we need to know ur mind too!!!!
Unni, where R U??>. Why dont U join us too..
Here we go for good :
ReplyDelete1. We hire an INOVA {Who does it? Or we plan to hire after reaching there??};
2. Stay at Sonamarg on 19th;
3. Proceed to Leh the next day;
4. Anil, please clarify, if we are stopping overnight on 29th at Kargil ???;
5. Proceeding to Leh on 21st;
staying/trekking/lazying/photographing/boozing/puking et.al. at Leh on 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th;
6. Proceeding back to Srinagar on 26th;
7. Staying overnight at Srinagar;
8. Dispersing on 27th back to base.
Vineet, Anurag, Hare, Sanjeev and Ashish to comment on all issues above if in case any changes are needed.
Reg. Dr.Asmita : Chapter closed. Read Laddie, Unni and Anil's blog above.
hmmmm...what a relief naa..to have the chapter closed? at least we know from anil's post (too) that jakky excitedly emailed asmita and welcomingly that put the poor lady on the flight. anyway...married bachelors or married spinsters..have fun!
ReplyDeleteSo far So Good Guys..
ReplyDeleteMay I humbly submit to our sleeping lazy bums to put in their comments too...Where are U hibernating , Vineet, Anurag, Hare..???? Time to shake ur butts guys!!!
Now few add-on..
Jakky, The programme U suggested suits fine..We stay in Sonamarg on 19th, Leave for Leh next day on 20th.. Now there r two options here.. One is that we hit Leh on 20th itself by evening(Entails road journey of 9-10 hrs) or else we stay put in kargil on 20th, see the place and then move on to Leh on 21st morning from Kargil..
Return trip on 26th is fine. we sud b in Srinagar by 26th evening, while shooting the breeze between Leh and Srinagar..
Yes, we need to hire Innova from Airport itself till we reach Leh. We wud dehire the same in Leh and rehire it again on 26th for our return journey back to Srinagar..
Is sud,nt be a problem..I shall pass on a word to my contact in Srinagar to do the needful for us, provided I get a go ahead signal from U all..
I am coming down to Chandiagrh sometime in last week of Apr.. Perhaps we cud meet then to forge out final shape...
Now for this annonymous mystery named 'B'...
C,mon buddy,be a sport.. I am sure U can throw away this veil..I read ur encouraging comments and do agree with U (with due respect to my dear friend Jakky), but I guess U have adequately tested jakky,s patience..lolzzzzzzz..
It certainly wud b a healthy fun to have names to throw banter at if at all required..So Buddy, lets have u unveiling ur mask NOW and giving well deserved respite to our chief coordinator, Mr JAKKY...Lolzzzz!!!!
GUys, Sarabjit, Jagdev and Tiger (Ranbir) are all here with me. Jagdev and Sarabjit are in Canada and Ranbir is in Texas..
ReplyDeleteDO you remember the damn dog who ate our Pork pickle too.. while we were trying to fix the scooter.
Nitin helped me get another Parka ...
Should change the Married bachelor's trip to something else now.. ;-). may be Married bachelor and Bachelorette trip. ...
ReplyDeleteI am going to call you guys Stags now ;-)
sarakti jaaye hain rukh se naqaab aahistaa-aahista ...... waise to naqaab utaarney ke liye nahi pehnaa.. yes dear ajnabi, your heart seems to go out to jakky and he does need some respite...i agree. every now and then truth too needs a break, right jakky? n laddie you r right abt re-titling, what say if they called themselves BatchLEH - the batch going to LEH...a working enforced derivative from bachelor!
ReplyDeleteNeed a few comments from the missing guys - H R Singh, Anurag, Vineet, Ashish and Sanjeev please!
ReplyDeleteThis is too much..... let me know if there is some trouble posting on to the blog... something.... I guess it has become mandatory now to say a few words even if diplomatic :-)
Try is bros !
Laddie, you really growing hair for a change ? BTW, the pic looks the same ole laddie....take care.
ReplyDeleteIt really so wonderful to have a tete-a-tete amongst friends - great !!
Jacob I Would love to go But I am not sure yet whether I'll be in town in june cause I am Going to kerala in the Last Week of May and may not be back till the third week of June (Some 'Lost relatives' of Wife's family coming after 15 yr and have to there for wife's sake )
ReplyDeleteEven if land back just before 19 June I am not sure how tired i would be make another journey, well its inviting but am not getting younger anymore so for the time being I am out, If I am back by 1st week of june then I will let you know, will reach leh, As i would not requir much space You don't need to plan any thing elaborate
So I guess Unni Saheb.. U R still encased in ur same tenuous frame.. Lolzz..
ReplyDeleteThanx ur excuse at least make me wonder if other guys here have finally discovered the formula for defying age...
@ My dear 'B'///.Aapki Nazar ye sher phes kiya hai...
"Hijaab ko Be Hijaab kar de

ReplyDeletejo khudh ajnabi, phir naqaab benaqaab ki hi baat kyun? hum aapse se nahi...mehfil se dartey, tabah hone ki nahi...tabah kar dene ko dartey. baaton se aksar kisi ki pehchaan ho hi jaati hai, ya to kya chehra dekh kar hi asli pehchaan hoti hai..?
ReplyDeleteSo still no response from the threesome - Vineet, Hare or Anurag..... cool dudes I guess. Accepting everything and rejecting nothing. That's some company.
ReplyDeleteWill be able to respond intermittently only till 31st since i shall be traveling (not official)..... call me in case of any urgency please.
Hello everybody.....i've been a regular reader of this page of yours, thanks to Anil. no doubt its going to be a wonderful and very memorable trip for u guys. i can sense the excitement by just reading it. your posts make this page more and more interesting each day. i make it a point to go through it once every day. know what...i envy you people! have a great time guys!!
ReplyDeleteHey Mani...
ReplyDeleteSweet of U to have put in ur comments here....And thanx for all the encouraging words..
Thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteBack into civilization !!
ReplyDeleteJakky..
ReplyDeleteGuess, Out of the whole lot who are actually going to Leh,its U and me only who seem to b consecrating our time here..
Where is the so called participation by others and their love for democracy.????
dont forget me too...am investing my time here too...tho' unappreciated..
ReplyDeleteHello. I am Satya a.ka Satwant Balse. Have been introduced to this blog by good friend Anil Dhyani. I am a great trekkign enthusiast ad have scaled the himalayas upto the height of 12000 ft. Tht's a great trip you guys have planned. Would love to make it but seems difficult as of now. You guys have a great time!
ReplyDeleteHey.. 'B'
ReplyDeleteNobody,s ignoring ur contribution here.. Ur presence has made the blog more colorful and exciting..Keep it up!!\
@ Satya....
It wud have been wonderful with U around.. It wud have served ur dream of getting first hand interaction with children there in School over there...May B next time..
geee ajnabi. i am touched! at least someone here appreciates me. and just for the record i do value your responses - they seem to have a dose of sincerity. whilst you speak of keeping it up..a lil diffct right now cos im really very down. verrrrrrrrrrrry i mean. cos .......hai wrong choice baby!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anil! You may never know. I may just join in the last moment! Or one day u may jsut fidn a sportsy looking lady with a backpack landup there and that would be ME! Fauji khandaan se hu na...ha ha ha.... we are like that only. Well that teaching project is something very close to my heart. Whenever that happens it will be my turn to give all of you an invitation.
ReplyDelete@ 'B'...
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the kind words U used.. Hmmm.. Its nice to be subject of gracious words dropped on U, since sincere praise is something which is difficult to come by these days..Lolzzz.. We always love those who admire us; We do not always love those whom we admire.. But I am making anexception here for U ..Lolzzzzzzz
@ satya...
Yes satya, I am aware of ur dream for the teaching assignment for children over there in that distant cold region.. And I reiterate that I will do my best to make it happen . Lets adjust the sails, now that we cannot change the wind direction.. What say..????
dear ajnaB
ReplyDeletereality check: we dont always (have to) love those who admire us;but am graciously accepting your 'exception(al) love' as they often say love dont make the world go round but sure makes the ride worthwhile! For the sake of discussion i wonder why Mae West said this:“A woman has got to love a bad man once or twice in her life to be thankful for a good one.”
@ ..'B'..
ReplyDeleteMae West was quite right .. One certainly cant appreciate charm of light unless he had stumbled on a dark corner..
As for love, my take is simple...U cant put a value tag on Love, but U can on all its accessories......Lolzzz...Cheers!!!!
ajnabi..so to unpack that: have a man but still go on to love more simply to know if you are in the dark corner or have seen the light!! in this case the OTHERS are the accessories..(to twist your value tag take).
ReplyDeletecatch: what if all corners are but dark!! sigh..
Thanks Anil. I would be eternally greatful to you for tyring. Regarding this forthcoming trip I know the direction of wind has changed where your group is concerend and I have adjusted my sails very well. If destiny favours I may still visit ladakh in my own capacity! Cheers!!
ReplyDelete@ .. 'B'....
ReplyDeleteIf all the corners R dark then all the more reason for a person to appreciate the value of Light.Sooner or later he will find a way out and cherish the fascination what light has to offer... All our perceptions are relative is,nt so????, just like any other event in this unfathomable COSMOS.... An occurrence is here and then its gone, with all its eternity of solemn meaning...
@.. Satya..
U don't have to thank me Satya..We have known each others for long enough to understand our dependability on each other..
I will keep my eyes on roving mode while in Leh hoping to find a charming lady with her specks on and with a backpack with lost looks on her face..lolzzzzz
Definitely looking forward to this trip. More so after seeing those pictures! For once I do welcome that roving mode! Infact planning a disguise to test how sharp is the owner of the roving eye!
ReplyDelete@.. Satya... lolzzz... U and ur sense of hunour....
ReplyDeleteComing back to basics, have to arrange for a Inova (or any other vehicle - please suggest) from Srinagar to Leh Via Kargil - right ?
ReplyDeleteThen we leave the car at Inova (or the vehicle selected) and hire another for our way back - right ?
Vineet to coordinate for the Inova via one of our clients in Srinagar... ok Vineet ??
Anythign else to be arranged by me (if inc ase i am missing something - Please do remind.
Anil, we need to freeze the quest list immediately. At present we are 7 including Dr.
Fine Jakky...
ReplyDeleteWell, if U hv a client there in Sringr, nothing like it.. We may stay in Gulmarg on 19th till 20th afternoon, if it sounds fine to all.I hv been assured of accn for us all there for 19th and 20th, we may leave for Kargil on 20th Afternoon and reach Kargil same evening..
can I req, all others to contribute their views here..???
I second the idea since I personally have a liking (the name Gulmarg sounds interesting). Then proceed for Kargil on 20th.
ReplyDeleteRest all remains the same - right ?
Come on guys - pour in with your inputs. And lets seal it as much as possible!!
Hi Guys......This is Vineet
ReplyDeleteI do not intend to tender any apologies for joining late in ofeering my vintage views and heavenly feelings;as I tried thrice to log on to this wondrous platform called BLOG which kinda bogged me down with its complete inability to understand the simplicity of a not so tech savvy homosapien.I tell u guys even technology doesn,t appreciate simplicity and sobriety in the present times. What a waste of human values.......
I just hope this great blog accepts me this time around.Hey Blog I am a good guy.......for Microsoft's sake...
So guys Anil,Jacob, Laddi,Anurag,Satya,Mani,Asmita and B,let me tell u that we are going to live some really very special time ahead together and I for one am looking forward to this heavenly tourney with bated breath.
My veto for whatever programme the frontrunning teammeambers decide and whoever wishes to go.
And let me also say you guys are making interesting reading while communicating through this blog. And Ajnabi darling you are a revalation.YE saale fauji khali baith baith kar shayari bhi seekh jaate hain.
And you B darling aapka to kehna hi kya.Aap mein to mujhe REKHA ki atma samai lagti hai.Apki baaten thodi ajeeb si hain magar unme kahin kuch apnapan hai, talkh hain magar kahin koi guzarish si bhi chipi hai, chahak hai magar udasi ko samete huwe hai.Khoobsoorat to ho magar UmraoJaan bhi ho.Rekha ko admiration to milti hai magar sath tanhaiyan bhi milti hain.
Baaki Kehte hain na
Mukaddar ki lakeeron ka suna tha hota hai jalwa bahut
Hum to magar yoonhi lakkeron ko banaate rahe mitaate rahe
Jacob this taxi thing from srinagar through my client seems a doubtful affair as I am not able to contact him.I am trying still and will keep u informed.
Laddi it would have been more wonderful if u could b with us.Trip ki life ke lamp mein thoda sa oil aur dal jaata dude.U can still give it a try dear...
For now I call it quits..
Shall get back later if this blog thing appreciates my doggedness this time around...
Oh good lord, some people are waking up and making some interesting comments..... Anurag and HR - for Christs sake (if not all of us) pen something down bros.
ReplyDeleteVineet, I hope you read regarding arrangement a request to arrange for a vehicle from Srinagar to Leh Via Gulmarg and Kargil - RIGHT ?
Anil, make other programs prudently so that we all are as convenient as possible - rest you know we can be as accommodating as the "English Camel" :-)
Oh sorry, I forgot to chip in something important! It would indeed be criminal not sayign a word or two on this. Here I go.......
ReplyDeleteDespite all the comments piled on to one person in particular (venomous it was!)..... you seem to have made your place in the group. YEAH, I am talking of B.
Now I presume, time to REVEAL (your identity of-course)!!
Well,Well..We have finally been 'NUKED' here by Vineet!!!!!! Touche!!!! Bro.....
ReplyDeleteaap ki shan me ek sher pesh Kiya hai Vineet Saheb!!!Jara Gor Farmaye...
" Chale aao tum ki hum yaad karte rahe,
Ye wo gunah he jo hum baar baar karte Rahe,
Jala ke dil me hasrato ke Chirag..
Aapke aane Ka intezaar karte Rahe"..
Chaliye der se hi sahi, janab aaye to sahi..
Ab gujaarish ye un chupe hue mahanubhao se, ki ve bhi yahan par aakar hum sab ka hosla afjai karen....
Fine, Jakky.. Then its done.. we r staying in Gulmarg on 19th.. will leave for Kargil on 20th after noon, spend sometime in Sonamarg falling enroute and stay in kargil on 20th. 21st we will leave for Leh and then remain there as per our previous programme..Any change..????
@ Jakky....Kindly update the list of all players for the trip for the benefit of all..Lets read their name once again...
PS.. Spl Note for our orphic Contributor..'B'..
I guess Jakky is perfectly right in his presumption..Ab to Naqab utha hi dijiye mohatarma Ji...
Vineet Dear…Rekha ho yaa unki aatma, lekin mujhe Rekha (jaisi) banaakar aap phir to Amitji bankar door hi rehnaa. Varna yeh talkh kahin aap par bhi na samaa jaye. ..Shireen to nahi hoon, aur naa hi ho sakti hoon..Rakesh ki khoobsurat chahne wali, farooq ki guzarish bhari umrao…(jaan to kisi ki bhi nahi, jaan to apni hi hoti hai). Jab tanhaiyaan badti hain to lakeroon ko dekh kar hi admiration aa jaata hai – hey muqaddar….jalwa dikhaana tha to uski tasweer lekar kyun? Magar kya karun? Na hai muqaddar ko sunai deti hai meri awaaz na hi unko…
ReplyDeleteAur Anil dear…aapka kya? Naqaab utaron ya nahi, fark to nahi padhtaa naa? Aapki baatein waise bhi mujhe acchi hi lagti hain. You have at least given me a space in the blog (not permission wise since that’s the prerogative of Jakky the great) by dignifying my comments. Muchos appreciated. If I do ever visit Leh in the years to come…….koi ajnabi se mulakat shayad hogi..
Jakky, if you found my comments venomous and a pile on a sincere sorry. That you even allowed me to stay on despite not knowing who or what I am and from where, known or unknown...shows what a courteous guy you must be. Maybe someday we meet too. I chance noticed this blog and became the devils advocate for no apparent reason. Obviously I have ruffled some feathers and for that a big huge group mmmuah to all. I can leave as silently as I came. Don’t have to show me to the door!!

@ .. Jakky..
ReplyDeleteI thot the option to stay in Gulmarg on 19th was still feasible..However in that eventuality we may have to stay in Gulmarg on 20th too to truly treasure what is rightly called "Paradise"..We may then have to stay in Kargil for 21st and move to Leh on 22nd..
Kindly confirm on this coz, its time we come to a final decisioon...
I need to know it pronto for action from my side!!!!!...
Anil saheb,
ReplyDeletePlease do accordingly i.e., Gulmarg on 19th. AND Since there is no response for anyone else on the schedule; I think we should go ahead with the one we have decided.
Please treat this as confirmed and you may kindly go ahead with the bookings please !!
The ROAD to Leh from Srinagar has opened yesterday, which is not usual.... seems Gods are with us this time over !!
ReplyDelete@ Jakky...
ReplyDeleteFine Buddy.. There we go then!!!!!!
Hi again!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys for putting me on the final list. I will be a good company and am sure you won't regret... The itinerary is just too exciting.Anil and Jacob thanks for making my dream trip...come true.
Jacob I agree with Anil we must stay in Gulmarg...I have been there twice and would love to stay...always..its really a paradise on earth..makes you forget the world..its just you and the grand Himalaya in its stunningly beautiful form ever..
ReplyDelete@.. Asmita.. Yes.. We R staying in Gulmarg.. Thats decided and arranged..
ReplyDelete@.. Jakky...
I was speakling with one of my old associate in Budhkharbo today( This place is about 2 hrs after Kargil, from Srinagar side). He suggested that its better to stay in Budhkharbo rather than Kargil on 21st. Leh wud b just about 3 hrs drive from this place, giving us ample time to appreciate landscape, and various monastries falling enroute to Leh..
Travel time from Srinagar to Budhkharbo wud be around 11 hours..
Moreover, since Jun is heavily subscribed month for tourism, its difficult to find accn there..
I personally liked the idea..
I am working on both possibilities.. Kargil and Budhkharbo...
So here is the final schedule...
19 Jun -- Off to Srinagar and stay in Gulmarg
20 Jun -- Stay in Gulmarg
21 Jun -- Move for Kargil/Budhkharbo
21 Jun -- Stay in Kargil/Budhkharbo
22 Jun -- Move for Leh and reach there by evening
22 Jun to 25 Jun -- Stay in Leh
26 Jun - Return back to Srinagar
27 Jun - Back to Base..
Anil boss - Purrrrrfffeeeeccctttttt!! GO ahead.... do it bro :-)

ReplyDeleteClick the above link (or cut and paste it in your browser)...........Does this happen often? Anyway there seems to an alternative....
Me, Unni and/or P. Satish planned a surprised flight to Leh as I can't risk long journey from Srinagar to Leh by road with torn ligament on right knee... but first there seem to be no direct flight from Chd. to Leh, and secondly my ortho specialist observed "too much risk, said i might collapse"... but then this heart of 20 in a body of 42 "maantaa hi nahin"... but then you never know, u might find us at Leh spending four quality days with you... Check it out as we plan.
ReplyDeleteMost welcome Gurpreet, Unni and Satish Saar. You may join us at Leh. I guess there are flights from Delhi to Leh... check it out... it will really be fun to have your company too. You do not need to strain... just company wud be good enough!
ReplyDeleteGurpreet if you are on facebook then we (Me and Unni) have two of our old friends joining us from Canada - Jagdev and Tiger Singh (Do you remember tiger signh's offical name though?) Nice platform these social sites like facebook/Orkut etc. provide.
Take care and looking forward to meet you at Leh Airport with a banquet of flowers :-)

Well, I knew few drop outs wud occur...Never mind..
Makes sense... to be in Chandigarh by 16th otherwise I guess sense would indeed trun to nonsense and I am pretty sure that won't be the case when it comes to Dhyani Dada !!
ReplyDeleteWhere is your B now-a-days? Any news?? Ideas??? Views???? Keeping in touch with him/her?????
Seems you missed Micko's comment above - right?
Take care and be good.... waiting with abated breath for the Leh Trip.
Devendra was apprehensive too - in any case all are most welcome..... as for dropouts - wait and watch as I said.
Yeah.. So an evening in Mohali club in the offing b 4 we move on to Leh par se.. what say..???..
ReplyDeleteI didnt miss Mickoo,s advice/comment, but then I thot it was addsd particularly to Gurpreet...I wonder if I know him!!
Ya, lets wait and watch..Anyway..WE are ON!!!
So everybody ready. One drop out already - Mr.Ashish unable to join us due to unavoidable circumstances at work !
ReplyDeleteBetter luck next time. OTHER all seem to on track !!
Dhyani saab, when are you reaching Chandigarh?
Dear All,
ReplyDeleteAs a final countdown to our trip to Leh, I need to advise you (as a co-traveler) on the precautions we need to consider before we travel. Remember, this has all been compiled from experiences from others, since I, for one, have never ever been to this place referred to as the 'other heaven on earth' - first being 'Gods own country'.
Shirt and shorts can do during the daytime but after sunset the climate gets chilly and one needs a Jacket or pullover. However, while trekking above 4000m, you need warm clothing. Sometimes there is rain or snow in early June and therefore it is wiser to carry windcheaters or raincoats.
Good heavy shoes, socks, gloves, mufflers, jacket, and pullovers are a good idea too. As the temperature reaches down quite low even in July-August {what to talk of June :-)}. Caps will also be of great help. Goggles are a must because of strong rays of the sun.
Sun screen, moisturiser, body oil, moov, iodex, medicines for headache, dizziness and body pain. Dispirin proves very effective. In case of mountain/altitude sickness Diamox is recommended.
Good quality camera to shoot and lots of rolls (avoid rolls if using digital - joking).
If planning to camp, be ready with packed food and lots of water as most of the distances one is not sure to find good restaurants. Getting your own food packed is better.
In Leh, Medicines are provided on demand by the hotel managers themselves. Still, it is better to carry your own kit. If anyone amongst us suffers of asthma or arthiritis, please do not forget to take your inhaler puff along.
In any case your regular medicine box (BP, Cholesterol, Sugar and what not) needs to be with you.
Carry hard cash - credit cards are mostly unaccepted in Leh.
Once again i impress upon each one of us to beware of high-altitude sickness though normally for a short while - but I must add that the sickness is when one travels by air since it is reaching at that hieight all-of-a-sudden whereas since we are traveling by road it will be much more comfortable.
Also, it is advised not to photograph people without permission
Anyway, thats' about it, if there are a few to be still added to the above, please pour in....... we need advises friends!
Hi guys!
ReplyDeleteI am feeling so sad and bad to inform you that I could not make it to LEH. I have my Text Book to be released by July anyhow which got delayed for many reasons. This is a very helpful guide for anyone planning a trip to Ladakh. The list of the top 10 tourist places in Ladakh is well explained and makes travel planning much easier. Booking a Ladakh tour package from Delhi seems like the best way to cover these places comfortably.
